Education Funding
The 2026 education funding programme is OPEN for applications for Grants, Scholarships are currently closed.
Our investment in education for our hapū provides the pathway to empowerment, employment and mātauranga; putting you in charge of your own opportunities.
As kaitiaki of our legacy, we encourage our whānau members to seek knowledge across a range of skills that will support the development and advancement of our hapū.
Our education programme places emphasis on skills and subjects that our whānau will need for the future workforce, as well as skills that will enhance and preserve mātauranga Māori.
Raising the level of general education and training and increasing employment opportunities for all whānau members is our goal. So, while some of our funding streams focus on specific skills and subjects, any application in-line with this goal will be considered, at all levels of learning.
The awarding of the Scholarships and Grants is at the discretion of the Whakarewa Board.
